Routes to avoid around the country

DUBLIN

From 7am Monday July 24th until 5pm Friday July 28th, the pedestrian laneway linking Post Office Road and Treen Hill, Lusk will close.

On Wednesday July 19th until Thursday July 20th, the Porterstown Road at Porterstown Level Crossing will be closed. This is to facilitate essential works by Iarnrod Eireann. The alternative routes available for the Porterstown Road are via the Luttrellstown Road and Clonsilla Road.

MEATH

From 10am Monday July 24th until 5pm on Sunday August 20th, the R150 from the junction of the R153 to Cr394 in Kentstown will close. This closure is necessary to facilitate the resurfacing of the R150 through Kentstown Village.

The alternative routes are:

1. At the junction of the R150/R153 travel east along the R153 to the junction with the N2 (Balrath Cross). At this junction turn left and continue to the next junction (Flemington Cross), turn left onto the R150.

2.Traffic on the R150 continue towards the N2 (Flemington Cross), turn right at this junction and proceed to the next junction (Balrath Cross) and turn right onto the R153. Diversion signs will be in place. Residents and property holders will be facilitated with access throughout the closure period.

Until 5pm Sunday the 13th of August, the Cr1402 Danshaw Road is closed from R161 Trim Road to Carriage Road. This closure is necessary to facilitate the resurfacing of the Danshaw Road. Alternative Routes:

1.Traffic at the junction of the Trim Road/Danshaw Road should continue northbound to the junction of Carriage Road and turn left. Traffic should then continue to the T-Junction with the Danshaw Road.

2.Traffic at the Danshaw Road/Carriage Road junction should turn left onto Carriage Road and continue to the junction with Trim Road. At this junction turn right and continue along the Trim Road to the junction with the Danshaw Road. Diversion signs will be in place. Residents and property holders will be facilitated with access throughout the closure period.

GALWAY

Until Tuesday, July 25th, there will be disruption to traffic on N63 Ballygar to Mount Talbot due to road works. The works will be in place from 9am to 5pm each day.

KILKENNY

Until Friday July 21st, major roadworks will take place on the N76 between Callan and Kilkenny the R691 junction. The works will take place for a 2km stretch of the N76 from 7am to 8pm daily.

Southbound traffic between Kilkenny and Callan will be diverted via Kells.

Northbound traffic should expect delays. Road users are advised to choose an alternative route.

Road works are being carried out about 2.5km outside Waterford on the N9 at the Nightcap Pub in Dunkitt. The works will be in place until Friday, July 22nd and will operate Monday to Friday from 8am until 7pm and on Saturday between 8am and 3pm.

KERRY

Until July 21st, major road works are in place on the N70 National Secondary Route between Glenbeigh National School and Mountain Stage. This is to facilitate pavement improvement works. Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes where possible.
