Routes to avoid around the country in the week ahead
The Irish Farmer's Association national tractor demonstration is well underway as we go to press. Tractors are leaving a number of towns around the country each day and are travelling towards Dublin.
The protest takes place between 10am and 3pm each day. Tomorrow it will be joined by tractors leaving from Durrow, Kilkenny city, Arklow, Kilbeggan, Edgeworthstown, Ardee, Castlebellingham, Cavan and Mountrath.
On Friday the protestors will use the N11 via Bray and Shankill, the N7 via Naas, the N4 via Maynooth, the N2 via Ashbourne, the N3 via Dunshaughlin and the N1 via Swords in order to reach the city for a lunchtime rally outside Government buildings in Merrion Square.
The tractors are travelling at about 20 miles per hour and will be in the hard shoulder whenever possible. They will pull in to accommodate traffic but you can expect delays.
DUBLIN:
Church St is reduced to one lane in both directions at Chancery St for LUAS works. Ellis Quay will be closed to Queen St from 10pm today to 6am on Saturday and from Monday to Friday, for resurfacing Blackhall Place Bridge.
Traffic diverted via Ellis St, Benburb St, Blackhall Place, Hendrick St and Queen St.
In Balbriggan, George's Hill and Station St closed to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic until February 25th.
LIMERICK:
Traffic from Shannon to Limerick is directed onto Ballycasey Roundabout to new link road to join N18 at new interchange at Bunratty. This is to alleviate queuing at peak times at Ballycasey.
It's no longer possible to exit for Limerick from Old Concrete Rd.
WATERFORD:
In the city there is a new traffic arrangement on Gratton Quay and Bridge St. All traffic from Grattan Quay heading for Bridge St or in the direction of Clock Tower must turn left at BridgeSt and proceed across bridge, rounding roundabout at train station and back across bridge. No right turn from Bridge St to Quay.
