Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead

DUBLIN: Roadworks on Greenhills Rd between Airton Rd and Old Tallaght Rd. Works are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Mon to Sat until October. Delays on the Grenhills Rd from the Airton Rd junction to the Old Tallaght Rd. When completed, the Greenhills Rd will meet the junction of the Tallaght Bypass. Expect delays at rush hour.

The Adamstown Rd will be closed from junction of N4 to Lucan/Leixlip Rd junction at Courtney's Pub till April 17th. Diversions are in place.

Road sweeping takes place until tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in hard shoulders and overtaking lanes of the Naas road from Newlands Cross to the county boundary.

Over the next five weeks, the Ordnance Survey Rd in the Phoenix Park will be closed for drainage and resurfacing. The closure will be from the Mountjoy junction to the Knockmaroon junction. Closure times are Mon to Sat from 9.30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Diversions are signposted.

Drivers are asked to stick to the diversion routes. There is no through access on Ordnance Survey Rd while these works are underway.

In April, Iarnród Éireann will temporarily close the Coolmine Road at Coolmine level crossing from 9 p.m. on April 26th to midnight on April 27th. An alternative route is via Clonsilla Rd to Main St, Blanchardstown to the Castleknock Rd to the junction of the Laurel Lodge Rd and onto Carpenterstown Park and Carpenterstown Rd.

ELSEWHERE: Works from Gowran to Ballyhale on the N9 and from Ballyhale to Mullinavat until early June. These are in two sections: from Gowran Race Course to Ballyhale (via Dungarvan and Thomastown) and from Ballyhale to Mullinavat on the N9.

The works are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon to Sat with temporary traffic lights. Roadworks and temporary lights are in place on the Sallins Rd in Clane, Co Kildare until early April. The lights will be in place 24 hours a day while the roadworks operate between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

CORK: Pembroke St and Crane Lane in the city are closed for works. Diversions in operation and no major delays expected. Work on South Mall between Smith St and Pembroke St. Crane Lane closed and Pembroke St closed at the junction with South Mall. Access to Pembroke St via Smith St and Phoenix St. Access from Pembroke St into Oliver Plunkett St is maintained.

Restrictions on St Finbarr's Bridge onto Washington St. No exit from St Finbarr's Bridge onto Washington St. Local access maintained for businesses only from Sharman Crawford St. Alternative route for westbound traffic via Sharman Crawford St, Clarkes Bridge, Hanover Place and Washington St.

Traffic from Washington St can turn left onto St Finbarr's Bridge for access to local businesses and St Finbarr's car park. This will be in place until April. Expect extra volumes to Clarkes Bridge.

CO DOWN: Roadworks north of the Border in Co Down on the main A1 Belfast to Dublin Rd. Northbound traffic is diverted via Carlingford and Omeath to Newry. This will be in place until the end of April.
