The builders holidays are over, so many roadworks which had been suspended since mid-July have resumed.

DUBLIN: Luas has announced that all of the major Luas construction works currently underway in the city centre will be finished by Christmas. The bulk of the heavy work of shifting underground services and installing the Luas railtrack is nearing completion, especially in key areas such as Harcourt Street, Middle Abbey Street, St Stephen's Green and Beresford Place.

Robbie Williams will play live in concert in the Phoenix Park for one night only on Friday August 9th. Restrictions in the Park, and if you are driving, you are advised to park your car in the city centre, and walk to the park.

The first of the two All-Ireland Senior Hurling semi-finals takes place at Croke Park on Sunday - Cork play Wexford at 3.30 p.m., and huge crowds are expected. Delays on approaches to Dublin and Croke Park, in particular on the N7 through Kildare, and on the N11 through Ashford and Kilmacanogue.

The On Ramp from the N4 (Lucan Rd) northbound to the M50 at the Palmerstown interchange is closed until Saturday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, for the construction of the second Liffey Valley bridge. Alternative route via N7 Red Cow roundabout and M50 northbound carriageway.

Ballybrack Road in Glencullen is closed until August 31st, due to drainage and resurfacing works. Local access will be maintained at all times. Alternative route via Tibradden Road/College Road/ Harolds Grange Road/ Blackglen Road/ Enniskerry Road and vice versa.

Works resumed on Finglas Road at entrance to Premier Square residences. Inbound carriageway works in place daily from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and outbound in place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Bus lane closed in this area at the same times. Care is needed if you are travelling on this route as traffic calming measure will be in place for the duration of the works.

MEATH: Roadworks continue on the N1 at Julianstown and temporary lights are in place. Expect delays at rush hour.

LOUTH: End of M1 in Dundalk, roundabout restricted to one lane . Extreme caution is advised on the approach. Part of a railing was damaged in an accident and it will take some time to repair.

WEXFORD: New one-way system - Peter Street, Clifford Street, Bride Street, Davitt Road South, Waterloo Road, Francis Street, Grogan's Road and Carigeen Street all one way.

LAOIS: Roadworks on N80 between Portlaoise and Killeigh, temporary traffic lights.

CARLOW: Roadworks at the junction of the N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack Street/ Kennedy Avenue.

TIPPERARY: Roadworks on N24 (Cahir - Clonmel Road), about five kilometres east of Cahir. Traffic lights 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (Monday to Friday).

CORK: Races at Cork racecourse on between 2.25 p.m. and 6.05 p.m.. The times for Monday, August 11th have yet to be decided.

KILDARE: Races at the Curragh racecourse on Sunday; the racecourse is south-west of Dublin, just off the main N7 Dublin to Limerick road. Expect delays.
