Road Desk: A weekly update on road conditions

Cork

From 8 a.m. on Monday April 22nd, Morgan Street & Robert Street will be closed until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 26th. This is for the extensive works that surround the new Cork main drainage scheme.

Emmet Place will be closed between Drawbridge Street & Lavitt's Quay from 8 a.m. till 5p.m. today for road resurfacing works.

Until 6 p.m. Friday May 4th, Gaol Walk will be closed at the Western Road. This is for Cork main drainage works.

Up until the May bank holiday, possible delays are likely on Bachelor's Quay, Kyrl's Quay, Coal Quay and Lavitt's Quay. This is for Cork City Council road resurfacing works.

Possible delays on Hartlands Avenue from 8 a.m. till Sunday May 5th.

Kyrl's Quay will be one-way eastbound between North Gate Bridge and Kyrl's Street, from 8a.m. on Monday, April 22nd until 5 p.m. on Thursday, 25th April. Westbound traffic will be diverted via Pope's Quay, for Cork City Council road resurfacing works.

Dublin

It is intended to temporarily close Brighton Road, Foxrock in order to facilitate essential new drainage connection work for new development between The Coppins and Tresilian. The dates of the intended closures are from April 29th until May 6th inclusive. Alternative route will be through Cornelscourt Hill, Old Bray Road, Mart Lane and Westminister Road and vice versa. A traffic management plan will operate and diversions will be signposted.

The Back Road between the Ashtown Gate and the Blackhorse Avenue Gate will be closed from April 29th to May 24th due to roadworks.

Kildare

The Irish National Hunt Festival at the Punchestown Racecourse runs from Tuesday, April 23rd to Friday, April 26th. Races on Wednesday, April 24th are between 2.10 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. Races on Thursday, April 25th are between 2.10p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Races on Friday, April 26th are between 2.40p.m. and 6.00 p.m.

Following the Irish National Hunt Festival, races are on at the Punchestown Racecourse on Saturday, April 27th between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.

Galway

The resurfacing works in Lower Abbeygate Street, between Middle Street and Merchants Road have been completed and traffic is flowing normally.
