Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
Until May 2007, lane restrictions are in place between Dundrum Bypass and Ballinteer Avenue. The restrictions are due to road widening works. Traffic Management is in place.
Until November 14th, a section of Woodwall/Anna Liffey Mill Rd (Tinkers Hill) is closed. This closure is from the entrance to Fort Lucan to its junction with Lower Lucan Rd, for works. Alternative routes via: Westmanstown Rd; Clonee/Lucan Rd; Laraghcon Distributor Rd & Lwr Lucan Rd.
Major road works are under way inbound on the Rock Road from Mt Merrion Avenue to Willow Terrace (beside Blackrock College).
Inbound traffic is reduced to one lane. The works are in place until March 2007. There is a speed limit in the area of 30km/h.
Until November 18th, Sheriff Street is closed. During the period of closure, diversions are in place.
WICKLOW:
Until early 2008, roadworks are in place on the N11 Kilpeddar Interchange.
Two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times.
MEATH:
Delays are expected on the N3 through Dunshaughlin due to works at the N3 Drumree Rd jct(R125) at the Arch Bar. The road behind the Arch Bar is closed with traffic diversions in place until November 19th.
LAOIS:
Roadworks are in place on the N80 between Mountmellick and Portlaoise. There may be some minor delays.
Also it is proposed to close a section of the N80 (Mountmellick Road) in Portlaoise between its junction with the (Ballyfin Road) and the entrance to the Fairgreen Estate from Monday, November 13th to Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006.
This is to facilitate pipe laying works to be carried out in connection with the Portlaoise Main Drainage.
KILKENNY:
Until November 18th, outside Kilkenny City there are roadworks and a stop/go system which may cause delays.
They take place on the Dublin Road from the Pike Pub on the Carlow side to the Lyrath Hotel on the Kilkenny side. A stop/go system is in place.
MAYO:
Until December 1st, on the N84 there is single lane traffic in operation from 8am to 5pm each weekday.
This will be at Keel between Partry and Ballinrobe.
LIMERICK:
Until Friday, November 10th, roadworks are in place at Abbeyfeale, from 8am until 5pm each day.
Roadworks will be on the main N21 entering Abbeyfeale town from the Newcastlewest direction. It will be a stop/go system, manually operated. Expect delays.
TIPPERARY:
Until November 14th works on the N8 between Cashel and Horse & Jockey are in place. Traffic cones and a 50km/h speed limit are in place.
CORK:
Expect delays until Friday November 10th on Thomas Davis Street from 3am - 7am due to a crane lift.
On Friday and Saturday, November 10th and 11th, St Finbarrs Road will be closed from Noonan's Road to Bandon Road for resurfacing works from 9.30am to 6pm.
