Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
From midnight on Friday until midnight Monday, March 27th, Belgard Square West, Tallaght, will be closed. This is for dismantling of tower cranes for traffic signal and relocation works. Alternative routes: Belgard Sq North, Cookstown Way and the Old Blessington Rd. Diversion signs will be erected. Local access will be maintained.
Until March 2007, major roadworks on the Rock Road, Blackrock, between Trimleston and Mount Merrion Avenue. Use public transport or Stillorgan Road, N11, as an alternative.
Until April 2006, there will be a temporary banning of right turns between Trimleston Avenue and Booterstown Avenue to optimise the throughput of traffic on the Rock Road. There will also be a temporary suspension of bus stops, a temporary suspension of car parking and the speed limit in the area will be 30km.
Most disruption will be caused to traffic between now and September 2006. At this time, traffic lanes will be reduced from the present four lanes to two lanes. There will be one lane for inbound traffic and one lane for outbound traffic.
On Sunday, March 26th, Monkstown Farm Rd will be closed between Lanesville and Monkstown Ave from 7am to 10pm. This is for the removal of a crane and alternative routes will operate. Buses will divert to Kill Avenue for the day.
On Sun 26th March, Blackthorn Rd from Blackthorn Drive to Bracken Rd will close from 6am to 4pm.
Alternative route: via Burton Hall Rd, Blackthorn Ave and Blackthorn Drive (for westbound traffic) and Blackthorn Drive and Blackthorn Ave (for eastbound traffic). Diversions will operate with local access maintained at all times.
WICKLOW:
Until mid-May, a median barrier on the central median of the N11 from Glen o' the Downs to Newtownmountkennedy is being erected. Lane closures restricted to off- peak hours.
LAOIS:
Until further notice roadworks are on the N7 between Mountrath & Castletown, 8.30am-6.00pm daily. Stop/Go traffic control, so expect delays.
GALWAY:
Expect long delays on the Dublin Road at Merlin Park in both directions due to works.
CORK:
Expect delays today on Kylemore Rd, 9.30am to 4pm for works, and South Douglas Rd from 7pm to 11pm.
Fr Mathew St closed until 5pm tomorrow and Pouladuff Rd exit (North) from Casey's Cross roundabout closed from 7pm to 11pm for roadworks.
Delays expected tomorrow on Melbourne Rd, 9.30am to 4pm.
Evergreen St closed from 7.30pm tomorrow night until 6.30am Friday.
On Friday there may be delays on Lough Rd from 9.30am to 4pm, on Orchard Rd from 9.30am to 4pm and on Albert Rd from 9.30am to 4pm.
