Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Night works will take place on the Clonsilla Rd between Porterstown Rd to Blanchardstown Rd South. Clonsilla Rd will be closed for the duration of the works. The works will be in operation from
8 p.m. on January 12th to 6 a.m. on January 13th and from 8 p.m. on January 13th to 6 a.m. on January 14th. The alternative route is via Blanchardstown Rd South, Mountview Rd, Blakestown Rd and Shelerin Rd.
Races takes place at the Leopardstown Racecourse on January 11th between 12.50 p.m. and 4 p.m. There are two entrances to the racecourse on racedays. The main entrance is on Leopardstown Rd, near the roundabout linking Leopardstown Park Hospital, Leopardstown Rd, Sandyford Industrial Estate and Brewery Rd. There is another entrance off Ballyogan Rd beside the Gallops Pub.
Brides Glen Rd remains closed until March 31st. Local access will be maintained at all times. Alternative route via Rathmichael Rd and Mullinastill Rd.
George's Hill and Station St in Balbriggan will remain closed until February 29th. Alternative route available to George's Hill (part of) and Station Rd (part of) for vehicular and pedestrian traffic via Mill St, Drogheda St, Railway St, Station Rd and Station Rd, Railway St, Drogheda St, Quay St, Harbour Rd and Georges Hill.
CHARGES: Dublin Bus has increased fares on all journeys by five cent. Both the Eastlink Tollbridge and the Westlink Tollbridge have increased their current charges. A car at the Eastlink now costs €1.35 and a car at the Westlink costs €1.50. The Drogheda Tollbridge has also increased its price to €1.60.
CORK: In Cork, Marlboro St, Cook St and Courthouse St are closed until the end of January. Inbound traffic is being diverted at Shears St/Grattan St junction onto Liberty St. Fitton St closed from Keeffe St to Morrison's Quay until 6 p.m. on January 23rd. The following restrictions apply in Cork city: Oliver Plunkett St Lwr is one way from Clontarf St to Customs House St, Robert St will remain closed and Watercourse Rd will remain closed. Keeffe St will be closed from Catherine St to Fitton St from 8 a.m. January 9th to 6 p.m. January 30th.The Jack Lynch Tunnel will be closed to traffic overnight on January 7th, 8th and 9th. The closure will take place from 8 p.m. each evening until 7 a.m. the following morning.
OFFALY: Roadworks on the N62 in Ferbane. Traffic using the N62 should divert via Ballinahown, Cloghan or Tullamore. The works will be in place until at least February.
MEATH: Watergate Bridge in Trim is closed until the summer. A race meeting will be held at the Navan Racecourse on January 10th between 12.55 p.m. and 3.55 p.m. The Navan Racecourse is two miles outside Navan town on the Kingscourt Rd (R162).
KERRY: Roadworks on the N21 between Ratass at the east of Tralee town and the Ballycarty Roundabout where the N21 and N22 converge.
LIMERICK: Old Windmill Rd is closed until October.
