Routes to avoid in the week ahead
DUBLIN: From June 8th until July 2nd, Newhaggard-Rush/Church Rd (known locally as Baleally Lane) will be closed. Part of Rogerstown Lane will also close at the entrance to Balally Landfill. Alternative routes available.
The Dundrum Crossroads will temporarily close from 8 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Tuesday (June 8th).
From 8 p.m. today, Ballinteer Rd is to close from the roundabout to its junction with the Ballinteer Rd/Kilmacud Rd Upper.
KILDARE: New roundabout in Athy at Dublin end of Leinster Street.
MEATH: Restrictions on N6 west of Kinnegad on June 8th, for work on Kilcock to Kinnegad Bypass.
WESTMEATH: Lane restrictions westbound on N4 Mullingar Bypass on June 7th for about 12 12 weeks. Motorists should use the old Dublin Road through Mullingar.
CARLOW: Works on Castledermot Rd in Tullow, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday. Works from Tullow Bridge to Killerig Cross will last seven weeks. Long delays expected.
OFFALY: Traffic lights on Main St, Ferbane as it is being restored as part of the sewerage scheme. Severe delays can be expected over the coming weeks.
GALWAY: Works on N18 in Gort until at least mid-July, from Monday to Friday between 7.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. between Gort and Ennis.
TIPPERARY: Works on N7 near Birdhill. Significant delays can be expected.
KILKENNY: One-way system on Patrick St from its junction with The Parade to junction with Upper New St. for the undergrounding of ESB networks, public lighting, broadband crossings, footpath replacement and preparation works for road restoration. Traffic will flow from Upper New Street to the Parade. A one-way traffic system will also operate on Upper New Street from Patrick St Church towards McDonalds.
LIMERICK: Major traffic diversion on Lower Shannon Street/Henry Street until June 23rd, from 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday to Fridays inclusive. Diversion Route will be signposted and traffic on route to the north of the city, i.e., (Ennis Road, Condell Road) from O'Connell Street, Roches Street, Mallow Street, O'Connell Avenue and Henry Street should use the Shannon Bridge.
WATERFORD: Mall Lane is closed until November. Local diversions are in operation. Adelphi Quay is closed until Saturday, June 19th.
Local diversions will be in operation.
CORK: Curraheen Road will be closed from 6.30 a.m. until 7.30 p.m. on Friday, from the University Technology Park to the ESB Sports Club. Divert via Melbourne Rd, Model Farm Rd, KIllumney Rd and the Clash Rd.
Alternative route will be signposted. The closure will be suspended from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday for racing at the Greyhound Track. Marlboro St closed from junction with South Mall until 5 p.m. next Monday.
