Routes to avoid during the week ahead.
DUBLIN: Two kilometres (about one and a quarter miles) of M50 motorway from Ballinteer Interchange to Leopardstown Road is now open. Traffic currently travelling to/from the M50 via the Sandyford Industrial Estate should divert to the new M50 Leopardstown entry/exit.
The New Wickham Bypass extension from Sandyford Rd to Taney Rd is open. This crosses Sandyford Rd at the Riverdale Apts and takes traffic over to Taney Rd.
Dundrum Bypass closed to through traffic from 8 p.m. on Friday, November 12th until 6 a.m. on Monday, November 15th, for completion of new Taney high voltage system. Alternative route via Sydenham Rd, Kilmacud Rd Upper, Ballinteer Rd and vice versa.
KILDARE: Monasterevin Bypass on N7 is open.
Races at Punchestown on November 13th and 14th. Punchestown Racecourse is on Naas to Ballymore Eustace Road (R411), 2 miles from Naas off (N7) Naas Road. Expect extra traffic before and after the meeting.
Works in Kill Village, for N7 road widening and interchange.
LOUTH: Old Dundalk-Ardee Rd (N52) closed for construction of Dundalk Western By-Pass, from 1.25km (about a mile) southwest of its junction with Kockbridge Rd southwest for a distance of 300m in Carnanbregagh townland. Heynestown Rd (CR165) in townlands of Gibstown and Killally closed for 1Km (about 880 yards) from junction with Old Ardee Rd and N1 Southern link Rd. Alternative route to Dundalk is N52, N1 Southern Link Rd to Carrolls Junction, Dublin Rd, Hill St, Dundalk.
GALWAY: Galway-Mayo IT will hold conferring awards at the Corrib Great Southern Hotel on the Dublin Road, today, tomorrow and Friday: today noon to 5 p.m., tomorrow and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so traffic will be heavy from 9 a.m. - 6.30 p.m.
Part of Portumna to Ballinasloe road (R355) closed until 5pm Saturday November 20th, at Boula, Portumna from junction with St Bridgets Rd, Portumna to junction with Liffey Mills Rd. Alternative routes: Traffic from the north (Ballinasloe) uses Banagher-Killimor road. Traffic from south (Portumna) uses N65 Portumna-Killimor road. Closure is for replacement of Mill River Bridge at Boula.
SLIGO: Temporary traffic diversion on inbound and outbound routes to Carraroe roundabout for construction work on Sligo Inner Relief Road. Temporary route will be a realignment of the existing carriageway outlined by cones.
CAVAN: Resurfacing at Belturbet on N3. Temporary traffic lights. Delays expected.
LIMERICK: Resurfacing on Ennis Rd (N18) from Coonagh roundabout to Caherdavin Cross. Expect delays .
TIPPERARY: Works on R445 Limerick Rd from Nenagh between Careys Glass & the Springfort Cross Junction. Traffic one lane, temporary traffic lights. Use alternative routes in and out of Nenagh.
CORK: Hanover Street closed at 9.30 a.m. today until 6 p.m. Friday for resurfacing.
Delays likely on College Rd between 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. today and tomorrow for roadworks.
