Routes to avoid around the country this week
DUBLIN: Road widening taking place on the Johnstown Rd in Cabinteely.
River Road is closed for 1,800 metres between the Ashtown Road junction and Ratoath Road junction. Traffic diverted via Ashtown Road, Navan Road and Ratoath Road.
A one-way shuttle traffic management system is in place on Kilmacud Rd Upper 24-hours a day.
There is no hard-shoulder on the south or northbound N11 carriageway from Crinken Lane to Stoney Bridge. The two lanes of traffic on carriageways going south and north will be narrowed, to facilitate tie-ins with the M50 South Eastern Motorway with the M11.
KILDARE: Temporary traffic diversion on the N4 west of Kilcock until mid-July 2004. Westbound traffic will be diverted towards the central reserve via a concrete barrier corridor to make room for the new bridge structure.
Eastbound traffic will be slightly moved towards the hard shoulder. Diversions in place while two new bridges on the new Kilcock to Kinnegad By-Pass are built. Minor delays during peak hours.
WESTMEATH: Roadworks and a stop/ go system on the N4 between Mullingar andKinnegad at Corelstown. The works take place from approx 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. for the next few months. Allow extra time for all journeys on this route.
There will be temporary traffic lights on the N55 Athlone to Ballymahon Rd at the Three Jolly Pigeons. Expect delays.
GALWAY: Restrictions on the east side of Eyre Square between Bohermor & College Rd, diversions down Brendan Ó Heithir Rd. So far there are no major delays.
MONAGHAN: The N54 Clones to Cavan Rd is closed. Diversions for traffic going from Clones to Cavan via Scotstown and from Cavan to Clones via Wattle Bridge.
KILKENNY: Traffic single lane one-way at The Watergate until June 2004. It will be single lane one way at its junctions with Waterbarrack Lane & Irishtown to its junction with Dean Street in aortherly direction (i.e., Parliament Street to Dean Street). This is part of the Broadband works.
WEXFORD: Broadband works on Brogan's Road in Gorey town until the end of April.
WATERFORD: Lombard St, William St and Newton St are closed from the junction of Canada St tothe junction of Park Road. These roads will be closed until Friday 16th April inclusive. The alternative route is via Catherine St, Otteran Place, Water St and Park Rd.
KERRY: Ivy Terrace/Pearse Rd in Tralee has been reduced to one lane for roadworks.Restriction will be in place until February 2005. Also Lower Ashe St in Tralee is temporarily closed for water mains works.
LIMERICK: New traffic signals are in operation on Henry Street at Cecil Street.
The Camheen Road is closed between the junctions of the Patrickswell Road and Caher Road until May 15th. It will be closed 24-hours each day. The alternative route will be signposted.
New traffic signals are in operation at the Dublin Road/St. Patrick's Road junction.
CORK: Possible delays on Lee Rd from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Traffic control will be in place. Dublin Street and Thomas Davis Street are one-way inbound until June 30th for street works.
Lane restrictions in place on St Patrick's Bridge from 7.30 p.m. to 11.30p.m. every evening, for footpath works.
Expect delays on the link road from Kinsale Road to South City Link Road from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Works immediately north of Charleville on the N20 due to traffic calming works. Traffic lights in operation for the duration.
