Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Bus lane partially blocked on Nassau St at Dawson St. Expect delays. Buses now stopping on Kildare Street. Convent Rd, Dalkey will close from junction with Corrig Road to junction with Leslie Avenue from 8 a.m. on May 10th. Alternative route via Carysfort Road, Ulverton Road, Harbour Road and vice versa. Local access will be maintained at all times. The Ballybetagh Road will temporarily close to through traffic from Killegar Lane to Glencullen Crossroads from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, to carry out site investigations for proposed water and drainage works. Local access will be maintained at all times.
WESTMEATH: In Athlone one-way system on Northgate St between the Abbey Rd and Church St, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for resurfacing works. Traffic not permitted to access the Northgate St from Church St or from Town Bridge during these times. Access to Connaught St and O'Connell St is restricted between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. until April 23 rd. Roadworks and stop/go system on N6, west of Kinnegad between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. Delays are likely to be worst on Monday mornings and Friday evenings.
CORK: Access to Fire Station on Railway Quay in Passage West will be closed to public traffic. Alternative pedestrian access will be available. The N71 at Bandon from junction at Sutton's service station closed to junction at Galvins Garage. A section of the R612 Carrigaline to Crosshaven Rd will be temporarily closed from today until May 31st. It will close from junction at O'Leary's Cross to junction at Grand Hotel Apartments.
CARLOW: Resurfacing works on the N80 Carlow to Rosslare Route just north of Ballon village. Traffic flow will be reduced to one lane and traffic lights will be in operation. Works 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
MONAGHAN: N54 Clones to Cavan Rd has been closed between Clones and Rabbitt Island. It will remain closed until approx June 7th (works will be in place for a minimum of seven weeks). Coming from Clones the diversion is via Scotshouse and Ballyhaise. Coming from Cavan diversions are via Newtown Butler in Co Fermanagh.
DONEGAL: The R262 between Frosses and Glenties is blocked due to a bridge that collapsed. The alternative route to Ardara - Glenties is via the N56 through Dunkineely, and the Five Points into Ardara.
KILKENNY: Rose Inn St will be closed on Sunday the 25th & Monday the 26th of April due to broadband works. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Johns Bridge and at Batemans Quay.
The alternative route is via High St and bateman Quay. Restricted access to businesses for loading/unloading facilities will be provided at all times, whenever possible. Temporary lights are in place on Johns Rd for the duration of the work.
WATERFORD: In Waterford, Adelphi Quay closed for Urban Renewal works. Diversions in place. Mall Lane closed. Diversion signs are in place.
