Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Slip road from N4 towards Chapelizod closed from 8 a.m. on Saturday to midnight on Sunday, to facilitate the attendance of Heads of State at the European Union Treaty Ceremonies. Alternative routes via N4/Chapelizod Bypass.
A section of Ballyboden Road (Edmondstown Road) will be closed from junction with Mount Venus Road to Ballybrack Road/Cruagh Road junction at Pine Forest Cross from Tuesday, May 4th, 2004 to Wednesday, May 19th, for facilitate essential resurfacing works. Alternative routes via Cruagh Road, Military Road (Killakee Road) & Mount Venus Road.
Cruagh Road temporarily closed from junction with Ballybrack Road/Ballyboden Road to junction with Military Road (Killakee Road) from Tuesday, May 4th, 2004 to Wednesday, May 19th, for essential resurfacing works. Alternative routes via Ballyboden Road (Edmondstown Road), Mount Venus Road, Military Road (Killakee Road). Convent Rd in Dalkey will close from junction with Corrig Road to junction with Leslie Avenue, 8 a.m. on May 10th, for reconstruction and resurfacing works. Alternative route via Carysfort Road, Ulverton Road, Harbour Road and vice versa.
CARLOW: Works on N80 at Carrigduff. Temporary traffic lights, delays expected.
LAOIS: Works due to finish on N7 between Mountrath and Portlaoise today.
MEATH: R157 Maynooth road from Dunboyne to re-open today, following bridge replacement works.
WESTMEATH: Works and stop/go system on N6, west of Kinnegad, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, expect delays - likely to be worst on Monday mornings and Friday evenings.
GALWAY: New traffic flow scheme on Eyre Square.
ROSCOMMON: Restrictions in Castlerea between Main St and Frenchpark junction, for pipelaying works.
DONEGAL: R262 between Frosses and Glenties blocked due to bridge collapse. Alternative route to Ardara - Glenties via N56 through Dunkineely and the 5 points into Ardara.
LIMERICK: Resurfacing works on Mill Road, Saint Josephs Street, Saint John's Street & Saint Leila Street, 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
WATERFORD: Adelphi Quay is closed for urban renewal works. Diversions are in place.
CORK: Access to the Fire Station on Railway Quay in PassageWest closed to public traffic, for construction work, re-opening in November. The Cork International Choral Festival runs from April 28th until May 2nd. Major concerts during the day and evenings in City Hall, St Finbarre's Cathedral and North Cathedral.
A section of the R612 Carrigaline to Crosshaven Rd temporarily closed from junction at O'Leary's Cross to junction at Grand Hotel Apartments, for the Crosshaven Sewerage Scheme. Little Cross Street closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow, for private works.
