With the Special Olympics under way, traffic will be subject to major disruption until Saturday June 28th on approach routes to all venues. No parking at any venue. There will be a closing reception on Saturday June 28th, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, followed by the Closing Ceremony from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Croke Park.

Traffic restrictions are similar to those for any major event at Croke Park. All details on events, venues and traffic restrictions are available at www.aaroadwatch.ie

DUBLIN: Ballycullen Road closed from junction Daletree Road to Oldcourt Road for road realignment. Alternative routes via Oldcourt Road and Daletree Road. Roadworks on Nangor Road, 500 metres on Clondalkin side of Pollyhops Pub, delays from Lucan & Newcastle. Temporary traffic lights in place. Work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday . Diversions are in place via Newcastle.

Cycle races in the Phoenix Park, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. August 19th: the following roads will be closed : The Main Road (between Phoenix Junction and Mountjoy Cross), and Survey Road (between its junction with the Main Road and junction with the Furze, Upper Glen and Knockmaroon Roads). Traffic

diverted or halted at: Phoenix Junction, Mountjoy Junction and junction of Survey Road, Upper Glen Road, Furze Road and Knockmaroon Road.

On Friday, a new stretch of M1 motorway will open from Dublin airport to Balbriggan. This stretch of the motorway will not be tolled.

LOUTH: Drogheda Bypass is now open. Interchanges at Gormanstown, Duleek Road, Donore Road, Mell and Monasterboice. Exercise caution at entry ramps, especially at Gormanstown, and at Monasterboice, where the layout has been changed. The Bypass is tolled, with toll plaza seven kilometres south of Drogheda. Charges are €0.80 for motorbikes, €1.50 for cars, €2.70 for buses, coaches and light commercial vans, €3.80 for HGVs, or €4.90 for HGVs with more than four axles.

MEATH: N1 works at Julianstown, temporary traffic lights, and delays expected. Traffic may be better off using the Bypass.

CORK: restrictions on Sullivans Quay - traffic is one lane until further notice; Quay Wall under repair. A footpath by the riverside is closed. Change to bus stops in City Centre: numbers 3 and 8 will leave from Phelans Pharmacy, while on South Mall, buses will depart from southern side of Imperial Hotel.

KILDARE: construction of Kildare bypass on the N7 means no left turn from Kildare to Monestervin at Cherryville Crossroads. Instead take next left, the Athy left at Monasterevin. Road between Ballymore Eustace and Brannockstown closed at Ardinore, traffic to divert.

LIMERICK: roadworks on Dooradoyle Road between two Roundabouts at Crescent Shopping Centre, each day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Roadworks have resumed on Rosbrien Road , expect delays.

ROSCOMMON: N5 closed between Strokestown and Tulsk, traffic to divert via Four Mile House.

CARLOW: roadworks until Sept 2003 atjunction of N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack St/ Kennedy Avenue. Roadworks at Paupish Lane and Angler's Walk junction and alongside New Oak Estate to Staplestown Road. There may be delays for local traffic.
