Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead

The M1 Northern Motorway from Dublin Airport to the Balbriggan Interchange is open. The motorway is 16.3km and it's expected that motorists will save up to 30 minutes on journey times. The Drogheda Bypass is open since early June, with interchanges at Gormanstown, Duleek Road, Donore Road, Mell and Monasterboice. The bypass is tolled, with the toll plaza seven kilometres south of Drogheda.

The charges are: €0.80 for motorbikes, €1.50 for cars, €2.70 for buses, coaches and light commercial vans, €3.80 for HGVs, or €4.90 for HGVs with more than four axles.

DUBLIN: Ballycullen Road closed from junction of Daletree Road to Oldcourt Road, for road realignment works.

'O2 in the Park' on July 5th in Phoenix Park. Restrictions and closures will be in place. There will disruption and partial closure of the North Road between Mountjoy Cross and Ashtown Junction from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7pm each day. On July 5th, the main road in the Phoenix Park, Chesterfield Avenue, will be closed from Gough Roundabout to Mountjoy Cross. The North Road will be closed from Mountjoy Cross to Cabra Lodge. Cabra Gate will remain open, but Ashtown Gate will be closed.

Cycle races in Phoenix Park, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., August 19th: following roads will be closed: Main Road (between Phoenix Junction and Mountjoy Cross), and Survey Road (between junction with Main Road and junction with the Furze, Upper Glen and Knockmaroon Roads). Traffic will be diverted or halted at the following points: Phoenix Junction, Mountjoy Junction and the junction of Survey Road, Upper Glen Road, Furze Road and Knockmaroon Road.

Hansfield Road is closed until Friday July 25th, between Ongar Park and Ravenswood Estate. The alternative route is available via part of Hansfield Road and the New distributor Road is via Ongar Chase/Ongar Park.

KERRY: Killarney Summerfest until July 6th. The festival will feature street entertainment, workshops, arte programmes and outdoor activities in the Killarney National Park. Expect heavier traffic on all approach routes to Killarney for the festival.

CORK: restrictions on Sullivans Quay - one lane, as Quay Wallunder repair. A section of the footpath along the riverside has been closed.

KILDARE: road between Ballymore Eustace and Brannockstown closed at Ardinore, traffic to divert.

LIMERICK: roadworks on Dooradoyle Road between Roundabouts at Crescent Shopping Centre. Works each day between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Roadworks on Rosbrien Road, expect delays.

ROSCOMMON: the N5 closed between Strokestown and Tulsk, traffic divert via Four Mile House.

CARLOW: roadworks at junction of N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack St/ Kennedy Avenue. Roadworks at Paupish Lane and Angler's Walk junction and alongside New Oak Estate to Staplestown Road.
