Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN:
Until Friday, 16th December, restrictions on Rochestown Ave, Kill O' The Grange: from Johnstown Road to boundary of National Rehabilitation Hospital. Lane restrictions for construction of footpath on south side of Rochestown Avenue, from 8am until 7pm. Two-way traffic during peak hours 8am - 9am and 4.30pm - 6pm.
Until December 21st, local roads to north of Swords closed for installation of pipeline works.
Until December 9th works on Balheary Road, from Magillstown Road to junction with Naul Road(R108).
From December 5th to December 21st, work on Pit Road from Naul Road to Rolestown.
On Sunday December 4th, the Jingle Bells 5Km run takes place. These roads will close between 10:30am & 12:30pm: Chesterfield Ave from Phoenix monument to Mountjoy Junction, Ordnance Survey Rd, Glen Rd/Upper Glen Rd from junction with Ordnance Survey Rd to Chapelizod Gate. Knockmaroon Gate will be closed. Parking only permitted in areas with organisers.
KILDARE:
Until December 6th construction work on Straffan Road in Maynooth, between Esso Garage and Dublin/Sligo turn off. Traffic one lane. A stop and Go system, 9:30am - 4pm.
Bond Bridge over Royal Canal and railway in Maynooth closed for reconstruction. Road and pedestrian traffic diverted from Parson Street/Rathcoffey Road in Maynooth (near Maynooth College) to Straffan Road.
MEATH:
New 4km stretch of N2 opened from M50 Interchange to Broughan. Access at each end at M50 and Broughan. Access between from Ballycoolin or St Margarets at Kilshane Cross.
WESTMEATH:
Works on west-bound lLanes on the Athlone By-Pass until at least December 1st.
CORK:
Until Monday December 12th, the L27891/0, Nash's Boreen, Knocknaheeny, closed for drainage dig for future developments.
Until Friday December 9th, Market Street, Kinsale is closed. Alternative route: Bandon Road via Guardwell, Main Street, Pearse Street via Barrack Street, Guardwell and Bandon Road.
Until Friday December 2nd, the R617 at Blarney village closed from Blarney Park Hotel to the Blarney Relief Rd junction. Alternative route via N20 Clogheen Road. Bus Éireann bus-stop temporarily moved to Relief Road.
LIMERICK:
Until May 2006 road works on St Nessins Rd from Raheen roundabout to Dooradoyle Rd. Traffic two-way until Christmas but then single lane, and delays will be considerable.
SLIGO:
Until December 19th, reconstruction work on Pearse Road, from Pearse Road/ Mail Coach Road Junction to Pearse Road / Cairns Road Junction.
WATERFORD:
Until December 1st surfacing on N24 at Grannagh, just outside Waterford city. Traffic one-way, controlled by lights.
TIPPERARY:
Until Wednesday December 7th Road resurfacing on N7 in Toomevara causing long delays especially during rush hour.
