Skoda looks set to bring out a production version of its quirky Roomster concept.

The boxy MPV-styled crossover was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September and is now said to be a serious production consideration, probably reaching our roads at the earliest in summer 2006.

According to reports, the compact MPV would be built on a platform using elements from the older Polo architecture and the new underpinnings of the Golf V and Seat Altea.

In size terms, the Roomster would be longer than the Fabia hatchback but shorter than the wagon version.
