V12 engines here to stay, says Ferrari

Ferrari has said its V12 engines will always be naturally-aspirated, even if more hybrid versions appear. With the launch of the turbocharged, downsized 3.8-litre V8 engine in the new California T, Ferrari had been expected to start work on more efficient versions of its V12 engines.

Maranello, though, is saying no to a turbo-twelve, at least for now. Ferrari’s two flagship V12 models, the F12 and the FF, are both due to be updated in 2016, but will retain the current, high- revving 6.3-litre V12 engine. Ferrari plans to start cutting its carbon emissions.
