It shows everything from the 40 Foot to the Botanic Gardens, but the delightful new Dublin map available at Cake Café is more useful in the kitchen than on the road – not least because it’s a tea towel.
“We do picnic baskets for customers and I had drawn up a little map of parks and places to go with your basketful of goodies,” says cafe owner Michelle Darmody. “The map worked really well and I though it would be nice to develop the idea further. I decided on a tea towel as it’s practical and accessible, price wise, for most people.”
Designed by Pony, the organic cotton towel celebrates the best of Dublin.
“I’m a blow-in to Dublin but I really enjoy living in the city,” says Darmody. “It’s great to be able to help show off some of the interesting and quirky places.”
The Dublin tea towel costs €6.75 at the Cake Café, the Daintree Building, Pleasants Place, Dublin 2. You can order one by calling 01-4789394.
