A new shop opening at 68 South Great George’s Street in Dublin today (in a former pharmacy near Waltons), will offer a wide selection of Irish and international homewares and gifts, with nothing costing more than €100.
It’s the brainchild of Jennie Flynn, a product designer, and retailer Barbara Nolan, who describe themselves as “designers, plotters and schemers” and whose buying mantra is “beautiful, useful and affordable”. Their cache of products for persons and habitats include these jewellery hangers in the shape of a garden rake (€28). They are by Hive, where Jenny worked for five years. Their ambition is to have 100 exclusively designed products by 2014. See designist.ie or tel: 01-4758534.
