Bertie Ahern’s Dublin Coddle, Gillian Bowler’s Orange Cointreau Jelly, Gay Byrne’s Roast Rabbit à la Ballyderrig, and Prof John Crown’s Milanese Risotto . . . what brings these family favourites together? The recipes for the dishes are among an eclectic selection included in In the Pot, a fundraiser in support of cancer research and patient care at St Vincent’s Hospital, compiled by Linda Kinsella and produced by Frank Buckley, with wine pairing suggestions from the O’Briens chain.

This lovingly collated little book also supports the Miriam Reynolds breast cancer scholarship. Judge Miriam Reynolds was diagnosed with cancer in 1997, and despite the severity of her diagnosis she continued her rise through the legal profession, progressing from barrister to senior council to judge. She died in March 2009, and the scholarship in her name is intended to support a scientist researching cancer treatment.

You can buy the book (€10) in a variety of shops in the Stillorgan area of south Co Dublin, online at inthepot.ie, and by telephone from Frank Buckley, husband of the late Miriam Reynolds, on 087-2940737.
