THE SOCIAL NETWORK:Fair City actor Ciara O'Callaghan was in a hurry to leave the UPC on-demand television service launch, at the Light House Cinema in Smithfield on Tuesday morning, and get back to RTÉ for filming.
O’Callaghan and King were part of a panel, chaired by Craig Doyle, rallied to entertain invited guests.
The invitation boasted that “All the stars will be there”, and featured Pat Kenny, Ryan Tubridy, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Instead, guests met Doyle, who seems very interested in ratings.
In Dublin, subscribers with the correct set-top box will be able to access RTÉ Player and the 3 Player. Doyle hopes ratings from the player will be added to live TV ratings.
Coronation Street’s Michelle Keegan was on a flying visit for the launch. She was planning to go for a pint of Guinness before catching a return flight to the Rovers Return.
Pippa O’Connor told me she is busy modelling but looking forward to Ibiza in July. She said her husband Brian Ormond has a busy summer ahead presenting the National Lottery’s Big Money Game on RTÉ.
