The couple met in Australia in January 2006. Liz was visiting her sister Siobhan, who lived in Adelaide at the time, while Jason was returning from the UK to his job in New Zealand, with a one-night stopover in Sydney.

When Liz arrived in New Zealand three weeks later, Jason insisted on picking her up from the airport, and it wasn’t long before they decided to spend the rest of their lives together.

Four months after the couple’s return to the UK, in the summer of 2006, Jason had his accident, and he spent almost two years in hospital, during which time the couple’s son Jack (now two and a half) was born, and Liz moved into a flat across from the hospital.

The music in the church was provided by Liz’s cousins, the Henry Girls, who live locally, and the reception was held in Carlton Redcastle Hotel, attended by 150 family and friends.

The couple honeymooned in Amalfi, Italy, and are now living in Morecambe in the UK, with their son Jack, and near Jason’s older children and their mother, Carol.
