The annual Macnas Parade takes place on Sunday at 2pm, as part of the Galway Arts Festival. BALLYCONNEELY PONY SHOW
The 25th anniversary of this annual pony show takes place this weekend in Ballyconnelly, near Clifden in Co Galway. The show attracts many breeders and ponies and has the added attraction of a dog show and craft fair. There were more than 340 entries last year, making the show the second largest of its kind in Ireland. While entries for the pony show have closed, the jumping class is still open. ROCK ’N’ ROLL TOUR
Starting at the Usher Hall in Belfast, this bus tour takes the participants on a journey of the city’s impressive rock ’n’ roll history. It takes in sites related to bands such as Snow Patrol, Stiff Little Fingers and The Undertones as well as visiting Cyprus Avenue, made famous by Van Morrison.
