TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
Starting today and running until Monday, the Feakle Festival in Co Clare is a mixture of workshops, concerts and sessions. Tonight’s opening is marked with a screening of Tonight as I lay Dreaming, a documentary on Clare singer Robbie McMahon. BLACKROCK CASTLE
Tomorrow and every Thursday, a one-woman show, entitled Racoon, presented by Meridian Theatre Company and performed by versatile actor Julie Sharkey (above), is hosted at the Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork. DANCING SHOES
While Belfast said goodbye to one sporting legend this week, another one, George Best, is being remembered on stage in a new production based on his life story, written by Martin Lynch and Marie Jones. COMERAGH WALKS
Guided walks are available on request in the Nire Valley on the Comeragh Mountains in Waterford. Walks are tailored to suit individuals, and cost from €10 upwards.
