A lively new magazine called The Waiting Room, which will be delivered free to GPs countrywide next week, is the brainchild of a Galway team headed by Clifden vet Maurice O'Scanaill, who is also a bestselling author.
The 32-page magazine (to be published four times a year) is bright, breezy and informative. Kate O'Toole has contributed an amusing feature on life on the road as an actress (read her hilarious encounter with a corpse at breakfast), and in something of a scoop, the magazine also has an exclusive interview with Desperate Housewivesstar Neal McDonough, which reveals his Irish background. Since you can't buy the magazine or find it on news stands, you have to be feeling sick before you can read it – or accompany a sick friend to a waiting room.
