GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT When it comes to slick packaging and cute gifts, nobody does it better than the Americans, and the extravagantly packaged cookies, cocktail mixes, dips and party snacks from Too Good Gourmet are now being distributed in Ireland by The Gifted Company.
"We plan to start manufacturing the cookies in Ireland later this year, and that should knock around 25 per cent off the cost," Paul O'Loughlin Kennedy of The Gifted Company explained. Currently selling in delis, florists and gift shops, priced from €4 upwards, the range includes key lime, apple cinnamon, chocolate and peanut butter cookies as well as lemon, raspberry and almond tea biscuits. Stockists include Woods Florist, Malahide Road, Dublin; Gardenworks, Clonee and Malahide; Main Street Flowers, Howth; Donnybrook Fare, Dublin 4; Kate's Kitchen, Castle Street, Sligo; Jim's Kitchen, Portlaoise.

BARBIE DAYS
It's time to dust off the barbecue and enjoy some outdoors eating again. Stock up on oils, marinades, sauces and spices from the home of the barbie at Oil&Vinegar on South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2. Spice up your barbecue with pepperberry and lemon myrtle dressings, green tomatoes in oil and vinegar, bush spice mix, and balsamic vinegar with either honey and vanilla or apple flavour. Another Oil&Vinegar shop recently opened at 39 Ballymoney Street, Ballymena, Co Antrim.
