Sundays in September and October find a series of one-day courses in organic gardening with Klaus Laitenberger at Milkwood Farm in north Co Leitrim, an 11-acre holding at the foot of Benwiskin (if you thought that it was impossible to grow vegetables in a bog, then prepare to be amazed).
Course subjects include "Grow your own vegetables and fruit", "Your self-sufficient garden" and "Complete beginners' hands-on gardening course". Course fee €70 (which includes morning coffee and home-cooked lunch). If you can't make the courses, Klaus offers organic gardening talks at Feeney's Garden Centre.
