* * * * ERA Shimmer in 24 Karat, €40 from Brown Thomas, Dublin. Shake, shake, shake and spray lightly on face, shoulders, arms and legs for great glow.
* * * * * Bronz'Express Tanning Gel for the face, €18 from Ann McDevitt, Wicklow Street, Dublin 2. A topical tan that doesn't stain. A little goes a long way.
* * * Piz Buin Self-Tan Foam, €17.99, available countrywide. Quick-drying and the colour comes up after 30 minutes. Great for last-minute tanning.
* * * * * Fake Bake, €35, available countrywide. Muddy and messy, but non-streaking and the best colour by far.
