Easy walking
Catherine Jeffers from Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford has set up Coastal Walks, offering relaxed seaside walks aimed at those who like to stop and stare and have a cup of tea. A typical walk starts in Lemon Grove Coffee shop in Drinagh for coffee and pastries with a bus pick up to Carnsore, followed by a 90-minute walk along Crossfinian Point, Carne harbour and beach, on to Ballytrent and along the coastal path to St Helen’s Bay resort for lunch before a bus back to Drinagh. Cost: €30, including meals, transport, etc.

Palace tour
Queen Elizabeth may be heading our way but, if you didn’t get the nod to join in any of the celebrations, you can catch up with her, in spirit at least, at an after-hours tour of one of her official residences in the hands of expert guides. The Buckingham Palace tour, for £159 (€182), is available in August and September, and offers the chance to enjoy the state rooms. At the tour’s end there’s a glass of champagne and then B&B at the four-star Cavendish hotel. The price is based on two sharing.
