St Clerans to close
A luxury Galway hotel, which was once the home of Hollywood film director John Huston and his daughter Anjelica, is to close down.
Management of St Clerans Manor House have written to customers advising them that the hotel was shutting down "due to unforeseen circumstances" on August 29th. The 12-room, 18th-century house is set in 45 acres and was once described by John Huston as "one of the most beautiful houses in Ireland". Philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre stayed there in 1960 when the pair worked on a film about Sigmund Freud.
