Does daddy like fast cars? If so, perhaps a trip to the north west, where the Topaz Donegal International Rally is taking place, is in order this weekend. More than 150 of the country’s top rally drivers are competing in the rally along the 300km route. This year the rally is making a welcome return to the “Edge of the World” aka the Inishowen peninsula.
The drivers probably won’t have time to take in the scenery but that shouldn’t be a problem for the 50,000 or so spectators lining the route. The rally continues today and tomorrow, and alongside the main event, which is a pivotal round of the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship, there is an Historic Rally competition and a Fiesta Challenge.
