The onset of winter signals the advent of the annual Woods at Work exhibition, when three generations of this well-known family come together to show the products of their year's work.

The show, which takes place next weekend, is held in the village of Sandyford, Co Dublin, where the family originated, and the idea of it is to showcase their unique range of talents.

This year, seven members of the family will be represented at the show, with work ranging from wood-turning and cabinet-making to Niamh Hurley's much sought-after paintings, bags and jewellery.

There's also a new element to this year's exhibition, with Niamh Hurley collaborating for the first time with her siblings Iseult and David, on an exciting range of work that unites her painting and their cabinet-making.

The family lost two of its members in the past 12 months with the deaths of Francis Woods and John O'Briain. They will both be sorely missed at this year's show. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
