Missunited has been a Galway stalwart this year but the hugely popular mare skips the Bank Holiday weekend action at Ballybrit to tackle the biggest challenge of her career in tomorrow’s French St Leger at Longchamp.

The Mick Winters-trained star is one of 15 due to line up for the Group One Prix Royal Oak at the famous Paris track where Seamus Heffernan will do the steering on the sole Irish hope.

With opposition that includes the Epsom Oaks third The Lark, the Aga Khan’s Ebiyza and Germany’s Prix Du Cadran winner Altano, it’s a long way from winning the Galway Hurdle during the summer.

The National Hunt feature at Galway tomorrow is the Grade Three novice chase where very soft ground conditions could see the local hope Clar Na Mionn come into his own.
