Guwahati, India - More than 10,000 people have fled their homes in the north-eastern Indian state of Assam following clashes between two ethnic groups, a senior government official said yesterday. More than 40 people have died in the clashes over the past two weeks between indigenous Bodos and migrant Santhals. Officials said they had built 14 refugee camps in the Goassaigaon sub-division of Kokrajhar district, some 250 km west of the state's main city, Guwahati.
