A 10 strong syndicate from Derry scooped the Republic's £1 million Lotto prize at the weekend. The nine women and one man are all members of staff at the Foyle View Special Care School in Derry.
One of the syndicate members is Ms Betty Davis, whose husband, David, was the Independent Unionist Mayor in Derry six years ago.
"We have been doing the Lotto for the past six years at work. We never changed our numbers although we were very tempted to after going such a long time without a significant win. As yet I haven't a clue what to do with my £100,000", Ms Davis said when asked what her plans were.
The teachers' syndicate bought the winning ticket about five miles from their school in the Co Donegal village of Muff.
