A ceremony to mark the opening of the 100th family resource centre takes place later today.
Social Affairs Minister Seamus Brennan will be among the speakers at the celebration in Croke Park.
The event will showcase the work of the centres, including their childcare services, adult training and disability supports.
Family Support Agency chief executive officer Pat Bennett said the landmark 100th centre is a demonstration of their importance in community development.
"The Family Support Agency is pleased to provide core support for each of these centres, but we also recognise that much of the valuable work that is undertaken is on a voluntary basis," he said.
Director of Combat Poverty Helen Johnson and the director of Cori, Fr Sean Healy, will also address the one-day event, organised by the National Forum of Family Resource Centres and the Family Support Agency.
