Freetown - Eleven civilians, including three women, were condemned to die yesterday for committing treason in Sierra Leone. The Freetown High Court of Justice sentenced five other civilians, also convicted of treason, to 10-year prison terms.

Among those condemned for their involvement in a junta ousted in February was the former mayor of Freetown, Nancy Steele (75).
