The Tánaiste, Ms Harney, has revealed that she has initiated 16 investigations into company law matters since she took office as Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
On prosecutions on her "watch", Ms Harney said there had been a number following the investigation into Garuda Ltd.
"We do not have any way of knowing the DPP's thinking on matters referred to him. He is very active these days. I know the reports are not gathering dust in his office. I am quite certain that if action can be taken on them, it will be taken."
She said a number of inquiries remained outstanding, and she understood a report on the NIB inquiry was due shortly. "The reason such inquiries take so long and cost so much relates to ongoing legal battles involved."
