Gardaí in Cork recovered €170,000 worth of drugs when they raided a house in the Whites Cross area on the outskirts of the city over the weekend.

Officers from the Cork City Divisional Drugs Squad recovered a kilo of heroin with a street value of €150,000 and a quarter kilo of cocaine with a street value of €20,000 in the search.

Detectives arrested a 19-year-old man under drugs trafficking legislation and he was brought to Gurranebraher Garda Station for questioning about the seizure.

The teenager is due to appear in court tomorrow morning in connection with the seizure which comes less than three weeks after a €250,000 heroin seizure in Cloghroe near Blarney.
