A 1798 commemorative parade was held in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, yesterday. Pike men and mummers from Co Wexford joined bands from Carlow and Kilkenny as well as local organisations and clubs.
At the town's market square a commemorative plaque was unveiled by the chairman of Bagenalstown Town Commission, Cllr Enda Nolan. The plaque is to the memory of six local men executed during the 1798 hostilities.
