A 21-year-old painter was head-butted and had a beer glass smashed in his face at a disco, the Circuit Civil Court has heard. Judge Desmond Hogan said Mr Peter Ralph, although left with scars and a dental problem, was lucky not to have been horrifically injured.
Awarding Mr Ralph, of Rathvilly Park, Finglas, Dublin, £19,000 damages against the Jolly Toper public house, Church Street, Finglas, Judge Hogan ruled that the owners, E Byrne and Sons Ltd, had been negligent in the running of an Easter weekend disco.
