A Dublin teenager who had wrongly been suspected of shoplifting and lost her job because of it has been awarded BO]£2,100 in the Circuit Civil Court. Judge Liam Devally said the Quinnsworth store in the Nutgrove Shopping Centre, Dublin, should have thoroughly checked out the security clearance on Ms Susan Farrell before letting her go as "unsuitable" on her first day at work.

He said Ms Farrell, now 18, of Whitechurch Avenue, farnham, had been confused with another girl who had falsely given Ms Farrell's name and address when questioned several years earlier in the store about shoplifting.
