London - Two men appeared in court yesterday charged in connection with the deaths of a young couple in a car crash.

Mr Jason Humble (32) and Mr Keith Collier (49) were remanded in custody by magistrates in Feltham, west London. Mr Humble, of Farnborough, Hampshire, was charged with two counts of manslaughter after Mr Toby Exley (22) and his girlfriend, Ms Karen Martin (20), died in a car crash on the A316 in west London on October 6th.

The young couple were killed when their car crossed the central reservation of a dual carriageway and smashed head-on into the path of an oncoming car.

Mr Collier, also of Farnborough, was charged with assisting an offender by falsely reporting to police the theft of a motor vehicle knowing it had been involved in a fatal road traffic accident with intent to impede the apprehension of a person who had committed manslaughter.
