Twenty people, including three juveniles, have appeared in court in connection with a major Garda investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs in Dublin. The arrests were carried out as part of Operation Klaxon, an operation aimed at dismantling drug networks.
Operation Klaxon was set up to gather evidence against major drug dealers and to ensure charges are brought against them. Suspects identified as “significant targets” are expected to face multiple charges, a Garda statement said.
Gardaí have arrested 40 people in the past three weeks as part of the investigation which is focused on the sale and supply of heroin, crack cocaine and other controlled substances in Ballyfermot and Clondalkin.
