There were emotional scenes in Buncrana yesterday as 20 Spanish students left for home after their summer exchange trip. Almost two weeks ago, the Omagh bomb killed their group leader and a fellow-student.

Four members of the group are still in hospital with injuries caused by the explosion.

On that day, when 28 people were killed, the students visited the Omagh folk park before going into the town to watch a parade. They were with children from their host families, three of whom, James Barker, (12), Shaun McLaughlin (12) and Oran Doherty (8) died.

Buncrana curate, Father Shane Bradley, who said the Spanish students were determined to return next year, has also said he would like President Clinton to visit the town next week.
