A young girl who suffered serious injuries in a crash in which her younger sister and another child died is to re- ceive €200,000 in settlement of her High Court action.
Faith Varden-Carberry was seven when the car driven by her mother, Mary Carberry – a chronic alcoholic who was drunk, uninsured and banned from driving at the time – crashed outside Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, in November 2007.
Mr Justice Peter Charleton yesterday ruled for the €200,000 settlement of the case against the Motor Insurance Bureau of Ireland.
