A Dublin truck driver was arrested after £200,000 worth of heroin was seized at Dublin Port by gardai and Customs' officers yesterday evening. A Revenue Commissioners source said the operation was the result of intelligence. Gardai from Crumlin and Store Street drug units made the arrest, backed up by members of the Customs drug unit.
The suspect, in his mid-forties and from the northside of Dublin, was arrested around 8 p.m. as he brought a 40ft container in from Holyhead. About 1 kg of heroin was found in the driver's possession. He was held at Store Street station last night.
