OVER 200 travellers were involved in a series of continuing brawls at Belcamp Lane, Coolock, early today as up to 10 patrol cars, involving 30 gardai, attempted to calm the situation.
The trouble began at about 12.20 a.m., following a traveller wedding at the Old Shieling Hotel, Raheny. An uneasy calm was restored by gardai, as some of the main troublemakers were dispersed. However these returned with weapons a short time later, giving rise to a further melee. A large force of gardai was remaining at the scene.
