21-year-old denies Co Tyrone murder charge

A 21-year-old unemployed coach builder today pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder at Enniskillen Magistrates Court.

A 21-year-old unemployed coach builder today pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder at Enniskillen Magistrates Court.

Mr Ryan Arthur Quinn, with an address at Killycanavan Road, Ardboe, Co Tyrone is accused of murdering Finbarr Francis McVey (21), from Cookstown on Saturday.

He is charged in connection with an incident at Molesworth Street in Cookstown in the early hours of the morning.

Mr Quinn spoke only to confirm his identity. Asked if he understood the charge against him, he nodded in agreement. A detective sergeant told the court that, when charged at Dungannon Police Station, Mr Quinn replied: "I didn't murder him."

The officer said he believed he could connect Mr Quinn with the charge. Quinn's solicitor said she would be making a High Court bail application. The defendant was remanded in custody to appear at Dungannon Court by video link on October 16th.
